With crispy skin and a fluffy, fork-tender interior they are great with just butter and pepper or loaded with your favorite toppings. It takes too much time! But cooking the baked potatoes in the air fryer frees up my oven space for other main dishes. So while my meat is cooking in the oven, I can have potatoes baked in the Air fryer. Talk about efficiency!

Best Tips

I have used medium sized potatoes. Choose potatoes that are the same size so they cook evenly.

I’ve read that if you don’t pierce the potatoes it’ll end up exploding in the oven. So I always made sure to poke the potatoes before they go in to the oven. And I’ve carried the same habit to my Air fryer as well. I’m not sure whether it will explode or not in the Air fryer since I haven’t tested it out. I don’t want to take my chances and neither do you. So, pierce holes in the Air fryer with a fork or knife to allow steam to escape.

Don’t overcrowd the Air fryer basket. You may have to cook in batches if you have a small one.

Ingredients

4 medium sized russet potatoes
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

Scrub, rinse and dry the potatoes. Pierce holes in the potatoes with a fork to allow steam to escape.
Coat the potatoes with olive oil. Mix salt, pepper and Italian seasoning in a small bowl. Rub the seasoning all over the potato.
Place the prepared potatoes in the Air Fryer basket.
Cook at 400℉ for 30 minutes. Flip the potatoes over and cook for another 15 to 20 minutes or until brown outside and tender inside. Cooking times may vary depending on the size of the potatoes and Air fryer model.
Remove the baked potatoes from the Air fryer. Slice lengthwise from the center. Fluff inside. Serve warm with toppings of your choice.

Notes

Store – without topping covered in an air tight container in the fridge for 3 days.
Reheat – in the Air fryer at 400℉ for 4 to 5 minutes until warm.

Baked to a crispy perfection these air fryer baked potatoes are the best!
