This crunchy and spicy chickpea recipe comes together with 6 ingredients and can be ready in under 30 minutes for a naturally gluten-free and vegan snack<\/p>\n<h2><strong>About Time\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-time-container wprm-color-border\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"wprm-recipe-time-header\"><strong>Total Time<\/strong>\u00a0 23 mins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 cups cooked chickpeas [or two 15 oz can] [see notes]<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons oil olive or avocado<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoons chaat masala<\/li>\n<li>1.5 teaspoon dry mango powder (amchur)<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon Kashmiri chili powder or any mild chili powder<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon salt or as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-group\">\n<ol>\n<li>Drain the water from the cooked chickpeas. Discard any skin.<\/li>\n<li>Use a cloth or paper towel to pat it dry.<\/li>\n<li>Set the temperature to 400\u00b0F in your air-fryer.<\/li>\n<li>Add the chickpeas to the air-fryer and set the time to 10 minutes<\/li>\n<li>When the time is up, toss the chickpeas so that they get evenly cooked.<\/li>\n<li>Set the timer for 10 minutes and continue to cook till the timer is up.<\/li>\n<li>While the chickpeas are cooking, in a large bowl combine oil with the spices \u2013 chaat masala, amchur powder, chili powder, and salt.<\/li>\n<li>Once the cooking is complete, toss the hot chickpeas in the oil and spice mixture till they are completely coated.<\/li>\n<li>Air fry the chickpeas for 3 more minutes at 400\u00b0F.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer it to a plate to cool. Once cooled store it in a glass container for about 3-4 days in a cool, dark place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"wprm-recipe-header wprm-recipe-notes-header wprm-block-text-uppercase wprm-align-left wprm-header-decoration-line\">NOTES<\/h3>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-notes\">\n<ol>\n<li>I prefer to buy dried chickpeas and cook them in a pressure cooker. You can also use a 15 oz can of chickpeas. Make sure to drain and rinse the chickpeas before using them to get rid of excess salt and preservatives.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to remove as much water from the chickpeas before air frying by using a cloth or a paper towel.<\/li>\n<li>Air fryers vary so you may have to increase the cooking time to make the chickpeas crunchy. Typically it should cook between 20-25 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>If the chickpeas lose their crunchiness in a couple of days, cook them in the air fryer for about 5 minutes at\u00a0400\u00b0F.<\/li>\n<li>The reason I add the spices in the last 5 minutes is because it prevents the spice powders from getting burned while being cooked for over 20 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Variations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You can add a teaspoon of turmeric powder to give it a nutritional boost but it does stain your fingers while you are eating the chickpeas.<\/li>\n<li>To mix it up you can add either a teaspoon of cumin powder or garam masala.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Crispy air-fryer roasted chickpeas\u00a0take your healthy snacking to a whole new level.
