Golden, flaky white fish is paired with homemade fries for an easy air fryer meal that\u2019s made with with less oil than traditional frying.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-slot-rendered-content=\"true\">So far my favorite fish and chips is from a little neighborhood pub in Cape Cod. On a trip to visit one of my close college friends from Boston last fall, I made it my mission to eat fresh seafood as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p data-slot-rendered-content=\"true\">Far and away my favorite fish from the whole trip was the flaky, golden and crispy fish and chips we had at one of her family\u2019s favorite local hangouts. It was the stuff of dreams!<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-ingredients-for-air-fryer-fish-and-chips\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ingredients for Air Fryer Fish and Chips<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>russet potatoes<\/li>\n<li>salt + pepper<\/li>\n<li>all purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>onion powder<\/li>\n<li>baking soda<\/li>\n<li>beer<\/li>\n<li>white fish (cod is what I use)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"h-how-to-make-air-fryer-fish-and-chips-step-by-step\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Make Air Fryer Fish and Chips \u2013 Step by Step<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"h-step-1-soak-potatoes\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 1: Soak potatoes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Soak the potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes, and up to 3 hours. If soaking for longer than 30 minutes, change the water at least once during the soak time.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-step-2-prepare-the-potatoes\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Prepare the potatoes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To make the homemade fries, drain the water from the potatoes and dry them very well with a towel.\u00a0Spray the inside of the air fryer basket generously with cooking oil spray.\u00a0Place the fries in the basket and spray the tops with more oil.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-step-3-air-fry-the-potatoes\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 3: Air Fry the potatoes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Air fry the potatoes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 7 minutes. Toss, then fry again for 7 more minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.\u00a0Remove to a serving dish and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-step-4-make-the-coatings\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 4: Make the coatings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-slot-rendered-content=\"true\">To make the fish, whisk \u00bd cup of the flour and all of the cornstarch together in a shallow bowl.\u00a0In a separate large bowl, stir together the remaining 1 cup of flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and baking soda. Pour in the beer and stir to combine.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-step-5-coat-the-fish\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 5: Coat the fish<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-slot-rendered-content=\"true\">Dredge each piece of fish in the flour mixture, then submerge each in the batter, dripping off any excess batter.\u00a0Place the fish pieces back in the flour mixture and sprinkle with more flour to fully coat, shaking off excess.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-step-6-add-the-fish-to-the-air-fryer\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 6: Add the fish to the air fryer<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Place a sheet of parchment paper in the basket of your air fryer and generously spray it with cooking oil spray.\u00a0Carefully place the coated fish into the basket. The fish pieces can be touching but not overlapping.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-step-7-air-fry-the-fish\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 7: Air Fry the fish<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-slot-rendered-content=\"true\">Spray the tops of the fish VERY WELL with cooking oil spray (you want them to be thoroughly coated) then air fry at 390 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes. Open the air fryer basket halfway through the cooking time and spray the fish again very well, then finish air frying.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"h-step-8-serve\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 8:<\/strong>\u00a0Serve<\/h3>\n<p>Serve the fish and chips right away with freshly minced parsley and lemon slices for garnish, along with tartar sauce and ketchup for dipping, if desired.<\/p>\n<a dry with paper towels VERY WELL<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t<div class=\"tasty-recipe-instructions\">\n\t\t<div class=\"tasty-recipes-instructions-header\">\n\t\t\t<h3 data-tasty-recipes-customization=\"h3-color.color h3-transform.text-transform\">Instructions<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"tasty-recipes-instructions-body\" data-tasty-recipes-customization=\"body-color.color\">\n\t\t\t<ol>\n<li id=\"instruction-step-1\" id=\"instruction-step-1\">Soak the potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes, and up to 3 hours. If soaking for longer than 30 minutes, change the water at least once during the soak time.<\/li>\n<li id=\"instruction-step-2\" id=\"instruction-step-2\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">To make the homemade fries, drain the water from the potatoes and dry them very well with a towel.\u00a0Spray the basket of your air fryer generously with cooking oil spray.\u00a0Place the fries in the basket and spray the tops with more oil.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"instruction-step-3\" id=\"instruction-step-3\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Air fry the potatoes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 7 minutes. Toss, then fry again for 7 more minutes or until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.\u00a0Remove to a serving dish and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"instruction-step-4\" id=\"instruction-step-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">To make the fish, whisk \u00bd cup of the flour and all of the cornstarch together in a shallow bowl.\u00a0In a separate large bowl, stir together the remaining 1 cup of flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and baking soda. Pour in the beer and whisk to combine.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"instruction-step-5\" id=\"instruction-step-5\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Dredge each piece of fish in the flour mixture, then submerge each in the batter, dripping off any excess batter.\u00a0Place the fish pieces back in the flour mixture and sprinkle with more flour to fully coat, shaking off excess.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li id=\"instruction-step-6\" id=\"instruction-step-6\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\">\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\">Place a sheet of parchment paper in the basket of your air fryer and generously spray it with cooking oil spray.\u00a0Carefully place the coated fish into the basket.
