Keep in mind that most \u201cfried\u201d food doesn\u2019t reheat well \u2013 so these are best when served fresh.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Should You Boil Potatoes for Air Frying?<\/h2>\n<p>Unless you are working with large potatoes that would take a long time to cook through \u2013 that isn\u2019t necessary. This is one of the reasons I love working with these small baby potatoes. They cook up quickly and don\u2019t require any extra steps to make them absolutely perfect.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Air Frying Works<\/h2>\n<p>While air fryers are relatively new to the market, the technology isn\u2019t really a new concept. They basically work like tiny convection ovens that you can use on your countertop.<\/p>\n<p>Similar to a convection oven, it circulates the hot air within the cooking area using a high-powered fan. This helps evenly distribute the heat around the food which not only creates more evenly cooked food but also reduced cooking times.<\/p>\n<p>By circulating the hot air, which contains the fine oil droplets from adding a light mist layer before cooking, and allows you to remove the need for submerging our foods in heavy oils to create the deliciously crunchy foods we all love.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients for Parmesan Roasted Potatoes<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>baby potatoes\u00a0or fingerling potatoes \u2013 skins ON<\/li>\n<li>olive oil<\/li>\n<li>garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>onion powder<\/li>\n<li>table salt<\/li>\n<li>black pepper<\/li>\n<li>parmesan\u00a0\u2013 grated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can this recipe be doubled?<\/h2>\n<p>Yes \u2013 this recipe can be doubled. However \u2013 depending on the size of your air fryer, you might need to work in batches. (Mine was 375F for 5 minutes)<\/li>\n<li>Wash, scrub, and dry the potatoes.<\/li>\n<li>Cut them in half, and leave the skins on.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl season the potatoes with garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and drizzle with oil.<\/li>\n<li>Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking oil before adding the potatoes. (not non-stick spray \u2013 see notes in the post)<\/li>\n<li>Air fry the seasoned potatoes at 375 F for 15 minutes, turning the potatoes halfway through. Within the last 5 minutes pause the air fryer and add the parmesan cheese to each potato. However, if you want these potatoes to have crispy cheese on top, air fry a couple of minutes longer.<\/li>\n<li>You can use as little as 1 tablespoon of oil or use a little more. I find the potatoes to be slightly crispier and flavorful when using oil but you can use even less for an air fryer.<\/li>\n<li>Season the potatoes with salt before air frying but add more salt (preferably sea salt) after frying. More flavor and the potatoes soak up the salty flavor better after frying. But it\u2019s optional.<\/li>\n<li>Fried food generally doesn\u2019t reheat well. But with an air fryer, you can reheat them once if they get cold (on the same day of making).
