If your air fryer is less than 5 quarts, you will need to get a smaller chicken.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Oil:<\/strong> Olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil are good choices.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seasonings:<\/strong> Salt, garlic powder and onion powder make a great whole roasted chicken that can be used in a variety of different recipes. Feel free to add any seasonings you like!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"h-how-to-air-fry-a-whole-chicken\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">how to air fry a whole chicken<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Rub the outside of\u00a0 a 4 to 5 lb. chicken with a healthy oil like coconut oil, olive oil or avocado oil. I\u00a0lightly spray the outside\u00a0with my avocado oil cooking spray to make this part super easy. Next,\u00a0coat the outside of the chicken\u00a0with a generous amount of seasonings, at least 1 tablespoon. You can use\u00a0whatever flavors you like!<\/li>\n<li>Place the chicken with the\u00a0<em>breast side down<\/em>\u00a0in the basket of the air fryer. Set the temperature to\u00a0360\u00b0F\u00a0for\u00a030 minutes. Once the timer goes off, use a pair of kitchen tongs to\u00a0turn the chicken over, breast side up, and\u00a0cook an additional 20 minutes at 360\u00b0F.
