🍓Strawberry bread

🍓Strawberry bread

Natalie July 18, 2024

Making strawberry bread in an air fryer is a delightful and relatively easy process. Here’s a recipe you can try:

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Pan:
    • Grease a loaf pan that fits your air fryer basket. You can use silicone or metal pans designed for air fryers.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream Butter and Sugar:
    • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  5. Add Eggs and Vanilla:
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  6. Incorporate Dry Ingredients and Sour Cream:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream (or Greek yogurt), beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in Strawberries:
    • Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
  8. Transfer to Pan:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  9. Air Fry:
    • Place the loaf pan in the preheated air fryer. Cook at 320°F (160°C) for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool and Serve:
  • Allow the strawberry bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

Tips:

  • Check the bread halfway through cooking. If the top is browning too quickly, you can cover it with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning.
  • Make sure the strawberries are well-dried before folding them into the batter to avoid adding extra moisture.
  • Experiment with adding other flavors, such as a bit of lemon zest for a citrusy kick.

Enjoy your homemade strawberry bread!

Notes:

  1. Pan Size:
    • Ensure your loaf pan fits comfortably in your air fryer basket. You can use a silicone or metal pan that is suitable for air fryer use.
  2. Preheating:
    • Preheating the air fryer is essential to ensure even cooking. Preheat for about 5 minutes at the required temperature.
  3. Strawberry Preparation:
    • Wash, hull, and chop the strawberries. Pat them dry to remove excess moisture, which can affect the bread’s texture.
  4. Batter Consistency:
    • Do not overmix the batter once the dry ingredients are added. Overmixing can result in dense bread.
  5. Air Flow:
    • Ensure there is enough space around the pan in the air fryer for air to circulate. This ensures even cooking.
  6. Checking Doneness:
    • Insert a toothpick into the center of the bread. If it comes out clean, the bread is done. If it has wet batter on it, cook for a few more minutes and check again.
  7. Covering the Bread:
    • If the top of the bread is browning too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil to prevent burning while the inside continues to cook.
  8. Cooling:
    • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing it. This helps the bread set and makes it easier to remove from the pan.
  9. Storage:
    • Store the cooled strawberry bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, refrigerate or freeze.
  10. Variations:
    • You can add a teaspoon of lemon zest to the batter for a citrus flavor.
    • Add a handful of chopped nuts or chocolate chips for extra texture and flavor.

By following these notes, you’ll have a better chance of achieving delicious and perfectly cooked strawberry bread in your air fryer.
