AIR FRYER BLOOMIN’ APPLES

AIR FRYER BLOOMIN’ APPLES

Natalie February 5, 2025

Air Fryer Bloomin’ Apples are a fun twist on caramel apples. The apple petals are soft and yummy from the caramelized sugar mixture.

This is a super-fast and quick dessert to make at a moment’s notice. It’s so much fun to make with little ones too. Fill your apple with this air fryer-baked apple filling for a healthier version.

This air fryer blooming apple will be one of your favorite recipes for gamedays, book club, or dessert nights with neighbors. Once they are served for the first time it most certainly will not be the last.

They are a wonderful, sweet treat, especially beginning in fall when the air becomes crisp and all the way through a snowy winter. This dessert and a warm cup of tea will make you feel warm and cozy.

About Time

  • Prep Time 5  mins
  • Cook Time  10 mins
  • Total Time 15  mins

Ingredients

  • 4 medium apples
  • 8 caramel squares
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla, set aside.
  2. Place apples on a cutting board. Using a small sharp knife, carefully cut the top of each apple off and then use a melon baller to scoop out the center of each apple to remove the core and seeds. Leaving a bit of room at the bottom of each apple, and do not cut all the way through.
  3. Make two round cuts in the apple center with a paring knife. Then turn the apple upside down.
  4. Cut downward starting about a ¼ inch from the base of the apple to create 6-8 slices of apple.
  5. Flip it over and it will look like a flower blooming.
  6. Fill the center of the apple with caramel bites. Use a spoon or pastry brush to coat the outside of the apples and the inside of each separate petal with a mixture of sugar and butter.
  7. Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray and place apples inside at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Keep a close watch on apples during cooking time so they turn out softened to your preference. Best when served warm or immediately if possible.
