Air Fryer Au Gratin Potatoes

Air Fryer Au Gratin Potatoes – These creamy, cheesy, golden-brown potatoes are perfectly tender inside with a crispy top. Made quicker and easier in the air fryer, they’re a comforting side dish for any meal!

Ingredients

  • 3–4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg or thyme for extra flavor

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, warm the cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Simmer for 3–4 minutes, then remove from heat.
Step 2: Layer the Potatoes
  1. Grease a small round baking dish or cake pan that fits your air fryer basket with butter.
  2. Layer sliced potatoes, cheddar cheese, a spoonful of the cream mixture, and Parmesan. Repeat until all ingredients are used, ending with cheese on top.
Step 3: Air Fry
  1. Preheat air fryer to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Place the dish in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden and potatoes are fork-tender.
  3. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
