Cheesy Potato & Meatball Casserole

Cheesy Potato & Meatball Casserole – Juicy seasoned meatballs nestled between layers of potato slices, baked in a creamy sauce, and topped with golden, bubbly cheese. Comfort food at its best!

Ingredients

  • 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced into thick rounds
  • 500g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup béchamel sauce (or heavy cream)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Meatballs
  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Form into small meatballs (about 12–14 pieces).
Step 2: Assemble the Dish
  1. Grease a round baking dish with olive oil.
  2. Place potato slices upright around the dish.
  3. Arrange the meatballs between the potato slices.
Step 3: Bake
  1. Pour béchamel sauce (or cream) evenly over the dish.
  2. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35 minutes.
  3. Remove foil, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
