Ingredients
- 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced into thick rounds
- 500g (1 lb) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup béchamel sauce (or heavy cream)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Meatballs
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Form into small meatballs (about 12–14 pieces).
Step 2: Assemble the Dish
- Grease a round baking dish with olive oil.
- Place potato slices upright around the dish.
- Arrange the meatballs between the potato slices.
Step 3: Bake
- Pour béchamel sauce (or cream) evenly over the dish.
- Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35 minutes.
- Remove foil, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
