Baked potatoes are a versatile and comforting dish that can be enjoyed as a simple side or turned into a hearty main course with the right toppings. Here are a few baked potato recipes that range from classic to creative, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

1. Classic Baked Potato

Ingredients:

  • Large russet potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Butter, sour cream, chives, shredded cheese, and bacon bits for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Clean the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry. Prick them a few times with a fork to allow steam to escape.
  3. Rub the skins with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  4. Place the potatoes directly on the middle rack of the oven (with a baking sheet on the rack below to catch any drips) and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the flesh is soft.
  5. Cut a slit in the top of each potato, fluff the inside with a fork, and serve with butter, sour cream, chives, shredded cheese, and bacon bits.

2. Garlic Herb Baked Potato

Ingredients:

  • Large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Clean the potatoes and pat them dry. Prick them a few times with a fork.

  3. Bake for about 45-55 minutes, or until tender.
  4. Slice open the top of each sweet potato. Fluff the inside with a fork.
