Air fried boiled chicken thighs

Air fried boiled chicken thighs

Natalie May 24, 2023

Air frying is a popular cooking method that uses hot air circulation to cook food, giving it a crispy texture similar to deep frying but with less oil. While air frying is commonly used for frozen or raw foods, it can also be used to reheat or crisp up pre-cooked food items like boiled chicken thighs. Here’s a simple method to air fry boiled chicken thighs:

  1. Preheat your air fryer: Set the temperature to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat for a few minutes.
  2. Prepare the chicken thighs: Take your boiled chicken thighs and pat them dry with a paper towel. This helps remove excess moisture and promotes better crisping.
  3. Season the chicken thighs: Season the chicken thighs with your desired spices and seasonings. You can use a simple combination of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika, or any other seasoning blend you prefer.
  4. Spray or brush with oil (optional): If you want to add some extra crispness to the chicken thighs, lightly spray or brush them with a small amount of oil. This step is optional but can enhance the texture.
  5. Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer: Arrange the chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they’re not overcrowded to allow proper air circulation.
  6. Air fry the chicken thighs: Put the basket into the preheated air fryer and cook the chicken thighs at 400°F (200°C) for about 10 to 15 minutes. Flip the thighs halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
  7. Check for doneness: After the cooking time is up, check the internal temperature of the chicken thighs with a meat thermometer. They should reach a minimum internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) to ensure they are fully cooked and safe to eat.
  8. Rest and serve: Once the chicken thighs are cooked, remove them from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a more tender and juicy result. Serve them as desired, whether on their own or with your favorite side dishes.

Remember that cooking times can vary depending on the size and thickness of the chicken thighs, so it’s essential to use a meat thermometer to ensure they are cooked through. Adjust the cooking time accordingly if needed.
