Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets – (Ninja Foodi or Air Fry)

Air Fryer Chicken Cutlets – (Ninja Foodi or Air Fry)

Natalie June 8, 2023

Air fryer chicken cutlets are a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional fried chicken. Whether you’re using a Ninja Foodi or a standalone air fryer, the cooking process will be similar. Here’s a recipe to make air fryer chicken cutlets:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (seasoned or plain)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray or oil for spraying or brushing

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). If using the Ninja Foodi, select the “Air Crisp” function and set the temperature to 400°F.
  2. Prepare the breading station. In one shallow dish, place the flour. In another dish, beat the eggs. In a third dish, combine the breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Take one chicken breast at a time and coat it in flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere the breadcrumbs. Repeat this process with the remaining chicken breasts.
  4. Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket or rack with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Place the breaded chicken cutlets in a single layer in the air fryer basket or on the rack, making sure they don’t overlap. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  6. Air fry the chicken cutlets for about 12-15 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time. They should be golden brown and cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts and the specific air fryer model you’re using.
  7. Once cooked, remove the chicken cutlets from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This will help them retain their juiciness.
  8. Serve the air fryer chicken cutlets hot with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.

Enjoy your homemade air fryer chicken cutlets!
