Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Air fryer chicken wings are a popular and delicious dish that can be made with minimal oil and still achieve a crispy texture. Here’s a simple recipe to make air fryer chicken wings:

Ingredients:

  • Chicken wings
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika (optional)
  • Cooking oil spray (such as olive oil or canola oil)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to around 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. While the air fryer is preheating, prepare the chicken wings. If needed, separate the wings into the drumette and wingette portions.
  3. In a bowl, season the wings with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and any other desired spices like paprika. Adjust the seasoning to your taste preferences.
  4. Once the air fryer is preheated, place the seasoned chicken wings in the fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking.
  5. Close the air fryer and set the cooking time to approximately 20-25 minutes. Cooking times may vary depending on the size of the wings and the air fryer model, so it’s a good idea to check the wings for doneness and adjust the time accordingly.
  6. About halfway through the cooking time, pause the air fryer and open it to flip the wings. This helps to ensure even browning on all sides.
  7. Once the chicken wings are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer. If you’re unsure if they’re cooked through, you can use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let the chicken wings cool for a few minutes before serving. You can serve them as they are or toss them in your favorite sauce, such as buffalo sauce, barbecue sauce, or honey garlic sauce.
  9. Optional: If you prefer an extra crispy coating, you can lightly spray the chicken wings with cooking oil before returning them to the air fryer for a few additional minutes.
