Air Fryer Cilantro Lime Chicken

This air fryer cilantro chicken is fresh and bursting with flavors. The chicken thighs are marinated in the best homemade cilantro lime marinade and then air fried to perfection. The result is juicy and succulent chicken, with a zesty lime flavor that is sure to tantalize your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • 7 Chicken thighs
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro
  • ¼ cup lime juice
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 1 Jalapeno
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 2 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 large garlic cloves
  • Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  • Make the marinade: combine the cilantro, garlic, lime juice, olive oil, jalapeno, honey, lime juice, lime zest, salt, and pepper in a blender or food processor and blend until well combined.
  • Marinate the chicken: Place the chicken thighs in a large bowl and pour the cilantro lime marinade over it. Mix everything together making sure the chicken is evenly coated with the marinade.Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator to marinate for at least 30 minutes to 4 hours. You can freeze the chicken immediately if you’re not ready to cook it yet.PS: leave the chicken on the countertop if you would only be marinating for 30 minutes.
  • Air fry the chicken: Preheat your air fryer to 365F/180C for 3-5 minutes. Carefully place the marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket skin side down and cook for 10 minutes.Flip the chicken so that the skin side is up and continue to cook for another 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken reads 165F/75C when checked with a cooking thermometer.Remove from the air fryer and serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!

Notes

How to store
Cooked chicken can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days in an airtight container. You can freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, simply place the frozen chicken in an air fryer and cook until heated through.
