Making air fryer egg toast is a quick and easy way to enjoy a nutritious meal. Because air fryers cook food without the need for oil, it is a healthier option than traditional frying methods.
The air fryer egg in a toast is perfect for those mornings when you don’t have a lot of time to spare but still want something hearty and satisfying. Plus, it only requires a few simple ingredients that you likely already have on hand, like a piece of bread and an egg.
EQUIPMENT
-
Ninja Foodi Air Fryer 6-in1
-
Cuisinart Air Fryer Oven
INGREDIENTS
- 2 slices of bread
- 2 egg
- 2 teaspoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Seasoning of choice.
INSTRUCTIONS
-
Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (170°C). While it is preheating, begin preparing your bread.
-
Using the bottom of a mug (or glass), gently press into the center of the bread, to create a pocket. Be sure not to press all the way through the bread, or else the egg may leak down through the air fryer.
-
Apply butter on both sides of the bread.
-
Crack one egg into each bread pocket.
-
Season with salt and pepper to taste and any seasoning of choice. I used Italian seasoning.
-
Carefully place the slice of bread directly onto the air fryer basket/tray. Close the air fryer basket and cook for 5-7 minutes, depending on how you like your yolks.
NOTES
Egg Cooking Times
I love my egg yolk runny, therefore 5-6 minutes of cooking time was perfect for my runny egg on toast.
If you prefer your egg yolk firmer, cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Keep in mind that these cooking times may vary depending on the size and model of your air fryer. The model that I’m using is Cuisinart Air Fryer Oven.
With a little bit of practice, you’ll be able to cook eggs perfectly in your air fryer every time.
