Air fryer fried chicken breasts are a delicious protein side that can be enjoyed any time of year. And now, you can achieve the same flavorful results without having to deep fry it – thanks to the air fryer!
Ingredients
2 Boneless skin-on chicken breasts
½ Fried chicken flour you can find this in the ethnic aisle
Spray oil
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 360°F/180°C for about 3 minutes.
In a medium bow, take each chicken breast and dip into the flour mixture and coat evenly on both sides then place them on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Grease your air fryer basket with some oil then place each breast inside from there, making sure not to overcrowd them as they need proper circulation in order for them to cook evenly.
Put them skin side down initially.
Set timer for 18-20 minutes at 360°F/180°C, turning half way.
When done remove immediately and serve hot with your favorite side dish or dipping sauce!
Recipe Tips & Substitutions
For an extra crunchy crust you can also dip the breasts into some beaten eggs before coating with the flour mixture for an even tastier result!
If you don’t have any fried chicken flour feel free to use regular breadcrumbs instead – just adjust spices accordingly if desired!
If you need an alternative recipe for fried chicken flour:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste
You can also use your favorite spices to give the chicken some extra flavor, such as chili powder, onion powder or cumin. Just adjust the other seasonings accordingly!
Feel free to experiment with different types of oil to grease the air fryer basket – avocado oil and coconut oil are great options too!
