The Air Fryer Grilled Cheese is an effortless recipe that is easy enough for kids to prepare. This classic sandwich is made with toasted bread and melted cheese, creating a perfect pairing that can be enjoyed with a variety of side dishes for a scrumptious meal.
How to make air fryer grilled cheese:
To prepare the Air Fryer Grilled Cheese, begin by spreading softened butter or mayonnaise on one side of each piece of bread. Next, place the bread with the spread side down in the fryer basket. Add cheese on top, and then place another piece of bread on top with the spread side up. Cook in the air fryer at 370 degrees F for 4 minutes, flip the sandwiches over, and continue cooking for an additional 4 minutes at 370 degrees.
Recipe tips:
For this recipe, I didn’t preheat my air fryer, but if your machine requires it, preheat it for 3-5 minutes before starting. It’s important not to overcrowd the basket, as only two sandwiches can fit, depending on the size of the bread. If you’re using thin bread, consider inserting a toothpick in the center of the sandwich to prevent the bread from detaching while cooking. Since air fryers cook by circulating hot air, light bread may get blown off.
