Air fryer grilled cheese sandwiches

Air fryer grilled cheese sandwiches

Natalie August 9, 2024

Ingredients:

2 slices of your favorite

  •  bread
  • 2-4 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, Swiss, etc.)
  • Butter or margarine, softened
  • Optional additions: sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, caramelized onions, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to around 350-375°F (175-190°C). Preheating ensures even cooking and a crispy exterior.
  2. Prepare the Sandwich:
    • While the air fryer is preheating, butter one side of each slice of bread. These buttered sides will face outward in the air fryer.
    • Place the slices of cheese and any optional additions between the two slices of bread, ensuring the buttered side faces outward.
  3. Cook in the Air Fryer:
    • Carefully place the prepared sandwich in the air fryer basket. You can use a little non-stick cooking spray on the basket or parchment paper to prevent sticking.
    • Cook the sandwich in the air fryer for about 4-6 minutes, flipping it halfway through the cooking time. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning, as cooking times may vary based on your specific air fryer model.
    • The sandwich is ready when it’s golden brown on the outside, and the cheese is completely melted inside. You can cook it longer for a crispier exterior.
  4. Serve:
    • Carefully remove the grilled cheese sandwich from the air fryer. Let it cool for a minute before slicing it in half.
    • Enjoy your delicious air-fried grilled cheese sandwich!

Feel free to experiment with different types of bread, cheeses, and additions to customize your grilled cheese sandwich to your liking.
