Air Fryer Irish Soda Bread

Air Fryer Irish Soda Bread is a delicious and quick way to make this traditional Irish bread using an air fryer. Here’s a simple recipe you can follow:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon melted butter for brushing

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
  2. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the buttermilk. Mix the ingredients together using a wooden spoon or your hands until a dough forms. If the dough feels too dry, you can add a little more buttermilk, a tablespoon at a time, until it comes together.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently for a minute or two until it becomes smooth. Shape the dough into a round loaf.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes.
  5. Carefully place the soda bread dough into the air fryer basket. If needed, you can lightly grease the basket or use parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  6. Cook the Irish soda bread in the air fryer for about 20-25 minutes, or until it turns golden brown on the outside and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  7. Once the bread is cooked, remove it from the air fryer and let it cool on a wire rack. Optionally, you can brush the top of the bread with melted butter for added flavor and shine.
  8. Slice and serve the Irish soda bread on its own or with your favorite spreads, such as butter, jam, or honey.
