AIR FRYER OLD FASHIONED POTATO CAKES

Sure! Here’s a recipe for old-fashioned potato cakes made in an air fryer:

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil for the air fryer basket

Instructions:

  1. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out any excess moisture. Transfer the potatoes to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and parsley (if using) to the bowl with the grated potatoes. Mix everything together until well combined.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes.
  4. Take a handful of the potato mixture and shape it into a flat round patty, about 1/2 inch thick. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  5. Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking. Place the potato cakes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between them.
  6. Cook the potato cakes in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for about 10 minutes. Then, carefully flip them over and continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. Once cooked, transfer the potato cakes to a serving plate and allow them to cool slightly before serving.

These air-fried potato cakes are delicious on their own or served with sour cream, applesauce, or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
