Air Fryer Poached Eggs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2-4 large eggs
- Water
- Salt and pepper (optional)
- Cooking spray or a little oil (for greasing)
Equipment:
- Ramekins or silicone muffin cups that fit in your air fryer
Instructions:
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Prepare the Ramekins:
- Lightly grease the ramekins or silicone cups with cooking spray or oil to prevent sticking.
- Add about 2-3 tablespoons of water to each ramekin or cup.
- Crack the Eggs:
- Carefully crack an egg into each prepared ramekin or cup, making sure the yolk stays intact.
- Air Fry the Eggs:
- Place the ramekins in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-6 minutes for a medium-set yolk. For a runnier yolk, reduce the cooking time to around 4 minutes.
- Check the eggs around the 4-minute mark, as air fryer cooking times can vary based on the model.
- Remove and Serve:
- Carefully remove the ramekins from the air fryer using oven mitts (they’ll be hot!). Use a spoon to gently lift the poached egg out of the water and onto your plate.
- Season with salt, pepper, or any other desired toppings.
Notes:
- Water Quantity: Make sure to use enough water to cover the egg whites but not so much that the egg is completely submerged.
- Cooking Time: Adjust the cooking time based on your air fryer and desired egg consistency. If you prefer firmer yolks, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Experimentation: Since air fryers vary in terms of power and airflow, you may need to experiment with a couple of eggs to find the perfect timing for your preferred doneness.
- Serving Ideas: Serve on toast, with avocado, or on top of a salad for a quick and healthy meal.
Air fryer poached eggs are a bit unconventional but can be a convenient option for a quick breakfast!
