Ingredients

  • 750 g (1.5lb) Potatoes Maris Piper, Russet potatoes, or any good one.
  • ½ tablespoon Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion granules
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1.5 tablespoons Oil olive oil, vegetable or sunflower oil.

Instructions

  • Wash the potatoes, cut them into wedges, and soak them in cold water for 30 minutes.

You can peel the skin off the potatoes if you prefer. I do this most of the time.

  • Drain the water, and pat the wedges dry with paper towels. Adds paprika, parsley, dried thyme, garlic powder, onion granules, black pepper, salt, and oil. Mix till they are well combined.
  • Lay the wedges in the air fryer basket or tray and air fry at a temperature of 400F/200C for 20-25 minutes depending on the thickness. Shake the basket halfway through cooking or every 7 minutes.

The potato wedges are done cooking once the outer layer has a nice crisp coating to it and has turned golden brown, and the inside is tender and fluffy.

  • Remove them from the air fryer and serve with sides of choice.

Notes

  • Pat the potatoes dry with kitchen towels before seasoning.
  • You can peel the potatoes skin off if you prefer.
  • Soak the wedges in cold water for 30 minutes or more before patting dry,  seasoning, and air frying.
  • The oil added to the potatoes helps crisp them so don’t omit it.
  • No need to preheat the air fryer.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket or tray. It’s best to arrange the potatoes in a single layer. Cook in batches if need be.
  • Shake the basket halfway through cooking so the wedges crisp on all sides.
  • You can add parmesan to the wedges after air frying for that cheesy deliciousness.
  • Air fryer temperatures vary based on the type, model, size, and wattage so when trying a recipe for the first time, keep an eye on the food. I recommend checking the food some minutes from the recommended cooking time and if you need to add more time, adjust accordingly.
