Ingredients (serves 4)
6 medium potatoes (or 4 large ones), cut into small cubes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
150g bacon lardons (or diced ham)
100g grated cheddar cheese
1 clove garlic, finely chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder)
1 teaspoon Spanish spices (smoked paprika, sweet pepper, cumin, etc.)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the ingredients:
Wash and peel the potatoes (you can keep the skin on for extra crispiness). Cut them into small, regular cubes for even cooking.
In a large salad bowl, mix the potato cubes with the olive oil, garlic, spices, salt and pepper. Add the chopped onions and bacon strips, then mix well to coat the ingredients.
2. Cooking in the Air Fryer:
Pour the mixture into the Air Fryer basket. Spread in an even layer for optimal cooking.
Set the Air Fryer to Roast mode at 190°C (375°F) for 20 minutes.
Stir the potatoes every 4 to 5 minutes to prevent them from sticking and to brown them evenly.
3. Adding the cheddar:
5 minutes before the end of cooking, sprinkle the potatoes with the grated cheddar. Close the Air Fryer so that it melts and lightly browns.
4. Serving:
Remove the dish from the Air Fryer, serve hot and enjoy immediately.
You can garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or chives for a touch of color and flavor.
Additional tips:
Vegetarian variation: Replace the bacon with pieces of peppers or mushrooms.
For more crispiness: If your potatoes lack crunch, let them cook for 2-3 additional minutes without stirring at the end.
Enjoy your meal! 😊
