A modern twist on a British classic – this air fryer toad in the hole is ready in just 15 minutes with minimal fuss!
Ingredients
- 1 to 2 tbsp vegetable or sunflower oil
- 6 chipolatas
- 120g plain flour
- 180ml semi skimmed milk
- 2 eggs
- Pinch salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.
- Add the oil to a 20 cm baking tin and place it in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 3 minutes to heat the oil.
- Carefully add the sausages to the baking tin and air fry for about 5 minutes until they begin to slightly brown.
- While the sausages are browning, prepare the batter. Add the flour, milk, eggs and seasonings to a bowl and whisk until smooth and lump-free. Use an electric whisker if you have one.
- When the sausages have browned enough, pour the batter over them. Try to do this step as quickly as possible to prevent too much heat from escaping.
- Air fry for a further 12 minutes. The toad in the hole should be golden brown, and the batter should have risen above the sausages.
