What Is The Secret To Good Yorkshire Pudding?
- Allowing the batter to rest for 20 minutes before cooking is a crucial step that shouldn’t be skipped. This gives the batter time to expand and results in a well-risen Yorkshire pudding.
- Be careful not to add too many eggs to the batter, as this can result in a doughy texture.
- For the best-tasting Yorkshire puddings, it’s recommended to use beef dripping.
- It’s important to work quickly when pouring the batter into the beef dripping, as you don’t want the air fryer to cool down and affect the cooking process.

Ingredients
- 115 g/4oz Plain Flour
- 1 Large Egg
- 210 ml/3/4 Cup Whole Milk
- 3 Tsp Beef Dripping
- Salt & Pepper
Instructions
- Load into a mixing bowl the flour and season with salt and pepper. Make a well in the center of the flour and crack the egg into the well.
- Mix with a fork the egg and gradually incorporate all the flour until all the egg and flour are mixed into one.
- Then gradually add the milk and continue to mix with a fork as you add it in.
- Mix until you have a pancake-style batter. Allow the batter to sit in the mixing bowl for 20 minutes before moving on to the next step. This will help the Yorkshire puddings rise.
- After 20 minutes add ½ tsp of beef dripping to 6 pudding tins and then place the pudding tins into the air fryer basket. Air fry at 200c/400f for 10 minutes.
- When the air fryer beeps quickly pour batter into each of the 6 fat sizzling tins, equally pouring the batter between the 6.
- Air fry at the same temperature for another 10 minutes.
- On the beep, use tongs to turn over the Yorkshires and air fry at the same temperature for the final 5 minutes.
- Flip back over with tongs and serve.
