Cranberry Orange Scones In Air Fryer

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Scone Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold butter cubes and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add Flavors: Stir in the dried cranberries and orange zest.
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix together the milk and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Form the Scones: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times to bring it together. Pat the dough into a circle that’s about 1-inch thick. Use a sharp knife to cut the circle into 8 wedges.
  6. Air Fry the Scones: Place the scones in the preheated air fryer basket, leaving some space between each one. Air fry for about 12-15 minutes or until the scones are golden brown and cooked through. Cooking times may vary, so keep an eye on them.
  7. Make the Glaze: While the scones are cooking, whisk together the powdered sugar and orange juice to make the glaze.
  8. Glaze the Scones: Once the scones are done, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. Drizzle the glaze over the warm scones.
  9. Serve: Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes, then serve the scones and enjoy!
