Crispy Air Fryer Onion Fritters

2 medium onions

1 tbs coriander (dried or fresh)

1 tsp garlic paste

1 tsp ginger

1 green chilli chopped

1 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp turmeric

1 tbs oil

1/2 tsb garam masala

Pinch fenugreek about 1/4 tsp

1 tsp salt

8 oz gram flour

2 oz rice flour or cornflour

Water as needed about 2 tbs

1 teaspoon bicarbonate soda

Method:

Cut onions in half and slice thinly

Add all the oil, spices/herbs except salt into a bowl

Add onions and mix with a metal spoon

Sprinkle over salt, mix and stand for 5 mins to allow onions to sweat

Add the flours and mix well

Slowly add water until you have a thick consistency, not runny, but a mixture that holds together without dripping off the spoon

Preheat air fryer to 180°C

ADD the bicarb to the mixture and stir well

Place a parchment liner in airfryer drawer or shelf

Drop spoonfuls of the mix, leave space in between

Air fry on 180°C for 4 mins each side or until crispy
