Ingredients:
Broccoli
- 1, 16 oz. package frozen broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Large pinch sea salt
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 4 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
Cheesy Breadcrumbs:
- ⅓ cup panko bread crumbs
- 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- ⅛ tsp salt
- Heaping ¼ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 4 teaspoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar or lemon juice
Instructions
- With the air fryer basket inside, preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, drizzle the olive oil over the frozen broccoli. Sprinkle with a generous pinch of sea salt and 1 minced garlic clove. Gently toss until combined.
- In a small mixing bowl, stir the breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, salt, dried Italian seasoning, and olive oil together until combined.
- Add the broccoli to the air fryer and fry for 8 minutes, shaking or gently stirring the broccoli every 3-4 minutes.
- Drizzle the broccoli with the balsamic vinegar and gently toss to coat. Sprinkle the broccoli evenly with the breadcrumb mixture. Turn the air fryer temperature up to 375 degrees. Air fry for another 5-7 minutes, or the breadcrumbs are golden. Season with additional salt to serve if desired.
Notes:
1. Leftovers keep covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. They do not freeze well. Reheat the broccoli in the air fryer at 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes, or until heated through or heat in the microwave on medium heat.
2. To make this recipe gluten-free, substitute gluten-freee panko bread crumbs.
3. To make this recipe vegan and dairy-free, simply omit the parmesan cheese from the recipe.
4. Keep It Simple: Don’t want the toasted breadcrumb topping? No problem! Just omit it from the recipe, tossing the broccoli with the seasonings and oil and air frying for 15 minutes, tossing every 3-4 minutes throughout. Drizzle the broccoli with the balsamic vinegar before serving.
5. Air fryers can range in temperature accuracy and strength. For the most accurate reading on your air fryer temperature insert an oven thermometer and make sure that the air fryer has reached 350° before adding the broccoli.
