SPICY HONEY CHICKEN

Spicy honey chicken is a delicious dish that combines the sweetness of honey with a kick of spiciness. Here’s a simple recipe to make spicy honey chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. This will be the marinade and sauce for the chicken.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the marinade over the chicken and toss to coat evenly. Reserve the remaining marinade for later.
  3. Allow the chicken to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight for maximum flavor.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess drip off, and place it in the hot skillet. Discard the used marinade.
  6. Cook the chicken for about 5-6 minutes per side or until cooked through and nicely browned. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts.
  7. Reduce the heat to low and pour the reserved marinade over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the chicken.
  8. Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the chicken to a serving platter.
  9. Garnish the chicken with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
  10. Serve the spicy honey chicken with steamed rice or your favorite side dishes. Enjoy!

Note: If you prefer a milder version, you can adjust the amount of sriracha sauce or red pepper flakes to suit your taste.
