Air Fryer Garlic Mushrooms
Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) mushrooms (such as button or cremini), cleaned and halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Prepare the Mushrooms: In a mixing bowl, toss the mushrooms with olive oil, minced garlic, thyme leaves, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Air Fry: Place the seasoned mushrooms in the air fryer basket in a single layer. If your air fryer is small, you might need to cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Cook Time: Air fry the mushrooms for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the mushrooms and your air fryer model. They should be golden brown and tender when done.
- Serve: Once cooked, transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish. Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley for extra flavor and presentation.
- Enjoy: Serve these delicious garlic mushrooms as a side dish, appetizer, or as a topping for salads, pasta, or grilled meats.
Notes:
- Mushroom Selection: You can use any type of mushrooms for this recipe, but button or cremini mushrooms work particularly well due to their firm texture and earthy flavor.
- Seasoning: Feel free to customize the seasoning according to your taste preferences. You can add other herbs like rosemary or oregano, or even a pinch of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
- Doneness: Keep an eye on the mushrooms towards the end of the cooking time to prevent them from overcooking and becoming too dry. Adjust the cooking time accordingly.
- Cleaning: Make sure to clean the mushrooms properly before cooking. You can use a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe off any dirt from the mushrooms. Avoid soaking them in water as mushrooms tend to absorb moisture, which can affect their texture when cooked.
- Serving Suggestions: These air fryer garlic mushrooms are incredibly versatile. Serve them as a side dish, toss them with pasta, add them to sandwiches or wraps, or use them as a topping for pizza or bruschetta. The possibilities are endless!
