Air Fryer Salmon Steak Recipe

Salmon steaks are delicious and cooking them in an air fryer can yield a perfectly juicy and flavorful result. Here’s a simple and tasty air fryer recipe for salmon steak:

Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon steaks (approximately 6-8 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or any other preferred herbs)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. While the air fryer is preheating, prepare the marinade. In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pat the salmon steaks dry with a paper towel. Place the salmon steaks in the marinade and coat them well on all sides. Allow the salmon to marinate for about 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  4. After marinating, place the salmon steaks in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
  5. Cook the salmon in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for about 8-12 minutes, depending on the thickness of the steaks. Cooking times may vary, but you can use the following as a general guide:
    • For 1-inch thick salmon steaks: Cook for 8-10 minutes.
    • For 1.5-inch thick salmon steaks: Cook for 10-12 minutes.
  6. Halfway through the cooking time, open the air fryer and gently flip the salmon steaks to ensure even cooking.
  7. Once the salmon is cooked, check for doneness. The salmon should be opaque and flake easily with a fork. If needed, you can cook for an additional minute or two.
  8. Remove the salmon steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for a minute before serving.

Serve your delicious air fryer salmon steaks with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, quinoa, or a fresh green salad. Enjoy!
